The system of pruning according to Guyot means that there are 1 or 2 fruit bearing shoots which are renewed each year. Grapes grow on a shoot of the previous year.

In both vineyards pruning is done according to the Guyot system. By limiting the length of the shoot and the number of buds it is possible the influence yield and quality of the grapes for the coming harvest.
